How a Water Pump Donation Works
HNCO offers three ways to support a water pump project: a £150 hand water pump, contributions from £25 towards a solar project, or a £1,800 solar water pump. Every donation includes photos of the completed pump and a completion confirmation report (PDF or email), with an optional dedication plaque/name. Estimated timelines: hand pumps 2–3 weeks and solar pumps 2–3 months.
Choose your donation option
Option 1: £150 Manual Hand Water Pump
A £150 hand water pump provides a long-term water source for up to 4 families and is designed to last 10+ years. It's ideal for household clusters where a shared pump can serve multiple families.

A solar water pump supports a larger community—typically around 100 people—and is designed to last 20+ years. It's suited to communal placements such as village centres, schools, or mosques.
£1,800 solar water pump donation →Option 3: Contribute from £25
If you'd like to give a smaller amount, you can contribute from £25. Contributions are pooled to fund a solar water pump project, so donors share the reward and impact.
Contribute from £25 →What you receive (proof of completion)
Every water pump donation includes:
- Photos of the completed water pump
- Completion confirmation / report (PDF or email)
- Dedication plaque/name (optional)
- Estimated timelines: hand pump 2–3 weeks, solar pump 2–3 months
If you're dedicating the donation, the dedication plaque/name is added during the project process and confirmed in your completion report.
Step-by-step donation process

Timelines and what can affect them
Estimated timelines
- Hand water pump: 2–3 weeks
- Solar water pump: 2–3 months
Factors that can affect timelines include:
- Seasonal weather and site access (e.g., heavy rains can restrict travel to remote areas)
- Transport and on-site logistics
- Scheduling across multiple installations and partner availability
HNCO keeps the process simple and transparent: once your project is completed, you receive the confirmation and photos.
Dedication plaque / donate in someone's name
Many donors choose to dedicate a water pump as sadaqah jariyah in honour of someone living or in memory of someone who has passed away. You can add an optional dedication plaque/name during the donation process.
Where HNCO installs water pumps
HNCO installs water pumps in regions where communities lack reliable access to clean water and where a pump can create long-term benefit.
